Four generations

The photo was taken on December 18 by Ranald Mackechnie, in the throne room of Buckingham Palace, and published on January 4, 2020 on the royal family's social networks. Queen Elizabeth II, 93, in a white dress, is standing in front of the steps leading to the throne. Behind her stands Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, 37. The eldest son of Queen Charles, Prince of Wales, 61, stands on the steps with his grandson George of Cambridge, 6.

The last portrait of the Queen and her heirs to the throne of the United Kingdom, already taken by Ranald Mackechnie, dated from 2016. Prince George was then three years old.
