An Austrian skater escaped death after he remained 5 hours under heavy snow on the slopes of Mount Plezenitzingen in Styria, 80 km from Salzburg, Austria, according to the British newspaper "Daily Mail".

The newspaper added that the survival of the man after he survived for 5 hours under 16 feet of snow was considered a "miracle".

Perhaps what contributed to the survival of the 26-year-old skater, is the presence of a large air pocket on the face, in addition to its transmitter and receiver, which helped rescuers locate it.

The police in the village of Grobming, near the accident site, received a call about the young skater not returning from the ski trip, and the police managed to locate him after two hours, taking advantage of the radio signals from his transmitter and receiver.

Once the skater was taken out, the rescuers rushed to move him down the mountain where there is a skier's inn in the valley, then to a hospital in Schladming, about 16 km away, where he was treated for hypothermia, noting that he had not suffered any other injuries
