Liberal Democratic Party Representative Akimoto arrested for suspected bribery over IR December 25, 11:31
A member of the Liberal Democratic Party's House of Representatives Akimoto, who served as Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Cabinet Office in charge of IR and integrated resort facilities including casinos, received millions of cash from a Chinese company aiming to enter IR. The Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office of Special Investigation arrested Rep. Akimoto earlier on suspicion of bribery.
Mr. Akimoto strongly denied NHK interviews last night that he had not received any petition or convenience from the company and had not received any money. .
