German nutritional expert, Imke Rize, said that dry lips are more than just an aesthetic problem, as they may indicate health problems.

She explained that dry lips may indicate a lack of vitamin B12, iron, or a lack of fluid in the body. Therefore, the diet should include sufficient meat and fish, taking into account the drinking of fluids at a rate of about two liters per day.

Lip dryness and cracking can also be countered by using lip care products that contain moisturizers, such as shea butter, cocoa butter, honey, beeswax, olive oil, or castor oil.
