- Soon, the mock commentaries with your participation will be released. This genre, for obvious reasons, refers us to a phenomenon such as hoax. Would you like to take part in a full - say, literary - hoax? To invent and promote some character and, maybe a year later, admit that he is you?

- “Eduard the Harsh. Brighton's Tears ”is the first film in Russia in this genre. Sample pen for us. And we want to see how people will accept this work. If she "comes in" well, we will continue to have fun. There is such a tradition that the viewer carefully takes the new things with us, so you need to carefully and progressively act in this direction.

- Would you take part in Eurovision in the form of Eduard Surovy if you were offered?

- You almost got this question into our film. In order not to reveal all the secrets, I will say that this train of thought is extremely close to the scenario. But I can’t spoil, so I won’t talk about Eurovision.

- Is the film about Severe intended for the prepared public, or is it a mass movie?

- Honestly, I don’t know how everyone who is not familiar with the work of Eduard the Severe will react. Of course, we did a project for those who are in the know. After all, Severe himself is not for everyone, not everyone understands his songs, humor. So ideally, our film is for a prepared audience familiar with Edward’s songs. Although ... You can see the picture without knowing anything about this hero. It would be interesting to show our film to such a person. True, I do not know such ...

- How many monologues were not included in the film?

“Not much of that stuff.” Some things spoken by the heroes are out of date, we had to abandon them. For a year, a joke can easily lose relevance. But still it was easier for us, there was very little rejected material, but we have pseudo-documentary material.

- Since your last production work in the cinema - it was “The Best Movie 3” - almost ten years have passed. Tell us about your experience in producing. What was the most difficult to create a film about Severe?

- I participated in the project from the first to the last letter - and in writing the script, and in creating the hero, and in the game, and in the shootings - so the production is very nominal. Let's just say it was one of many aspects of the job.

- In what situations do you find humor inappropriate, are there forbidden topics for you?

- Of course, there are transcendental things that I will not allow myself. Laugh at disability, for example. Over the religious feelings of people. But you have to understand that a joke is a joke. It’s one thing to make fun of a disabled person, it’s another thing to make fun of a problem - and so that no one is offended. Do not get personal. This is subtle matter. There is also black humor when jokes sound very harsh.

But still there are topics that I would never take a joke on: terrorist attacks, diseases, genocide and so on.

- Do you always calmly react to criticism, find the strength to laugh it off? Does it happen that you cannot put a person in his place with a word - and use some other resources?

- Without constructive criticism, you can lose very much in quality. This is a necessary thing, without which nothing sane will not work. You can "lose the coast." But we do not always see from the side what we are doing. We can’t appreciate it.

And therefore, criticism is our integral tool when we work on the transfer, come up with sketches or create content. Each time the material passes a sieve of authors, editors, producers. Sometimes it happens that “you go into creativity”, but humor is a subjective thing: one is funny, the other is not, and therefore a filter is needed.

So that this can be shown on TNT, so that millions of people see it, we need both editing and criticism from people who understand what they are saying. They do not seek to make worse, this is not criticism bordering on insult, no. In general, criticism is useful in any profession.
