I think my first memory of Christmas is paparruchas. Then came family liturgies and other wonders, but before they were the paparruchas . It was the curse that Mr. Scrooge uttered in some drawings that he would rather not see again. He actually said humbug . The translators of the Dickens Christmas Story could have chosen a hoax, which is not bad either, but they risked with paparrucha and risked well. I suppose that the successive adaptations will have respected him. father
