Dear Magi, as I have behaved quite well this year, I want to ask you only one thing. I know it's difficult, but you make all dreams come true, and my dream is none other than when I grow up to be like one of the children of MasterChef Junior 7. They play the guitar, they have written books, some are even writing their first novel , they are youtubers, they go to the MasterChef Junior camp, they know how to do spherifications and, on top of that, they cook that it is blessed glory. And what have I done to my almost 40 years? Well, as you already know, because for that you are magicians, not even half of what they have done with no more than 12 years. As you can see it is quite almost impossible that you can make my dream come true. I think we are late, but in your hands I leave it. I wait for you on January 6.

This is the letter that after seeing the seventh edition of MasterChef Junior would write to the Magi today. But what have I done with my life in these 38 years? Well, seeing the children who are part of this edition, and as much as it bursts me, I have done absolutely nothing. It is not only that they cook well and know how to make cutting-edge culinary techniques that with my two left hands I could not realize in my best dreams, but they are also children who know how to do dozens of things, and all well. But where do these children come from? What did I do in my childhood? Why didn't my parents enhance my talent - whatever it was?

Childhood has changed so much, that no one could imagine 20 years ago - oh, what I say 20 years ago! -, that nobody could imagine 10 years ago that children would become overstimulated and talented little adults that not even my 30 and 10 -thanks Sabina- I have. I understand and I am aware that in these castings not only children who have culinary skills are sought but children who have many skills are sought, and of course the 16 children - then they stayed at 13 with the expulsion of Alex, Silvia and Marta - have abilities to give and take.

Therefore, of the 16 children who were chosen to be part of MasterChef Junior 7 there is one that has taken all the glory and has become just a program in the great star of this edition. His name is Albert, he is from Tarragona, but he cooks the gazpacho that you fall on your ass. He is 10 years old and like any child he loves video games. In fact, he likes them so much that he wants to have a little brother just to be able to play video games with him. But the best thing about Albert is that it is so simple that it makes him charming. His favorite actor is Paco Martínez Soria, yes Paco Martínez Soria, and he plays for Cine de Barrio because it is where they cast their favorite movies like The city is not for me or Abuelo made in Spain. Can it be bigger!

It is no longer just that the most difficult can he has done in his life is roasted vegetables with sobrasada and "stuff" or that his favorite dish is the battered chicken, it is so magnificent that the first time he has fried an egg without The yolk was broken in MasterChef Junior 7, and he has no problem recognizing it or applauding himself for having achieved it. That is, it is a child, child, period. I do not say that he does not know how to cook, that for something he is in MasterChef Juniior 7, nor that his salt shaker, grace and spectacle have helped him to be in this edition, but what I am clear is that a child like any other, such as children who we see the sprouts coming out, the children we see in the parks, the children screaming in the restaurants. In short, a child.

"I use a saw knife because with the normal the edge is damaged with the acid from the tomato. It also happens with the lemons." There it has hurt . Children's things, at the level of children and with the innocence, sweetness and self-confidence of a child. I don't want to say that the rest of the applicants don't have it, but the feeling from the other side of the screen is that the others are aspiring children 10 and Albert is so like the rest of us that it doesn't surprise me that the public is I have surrendered at his feet. Just as we surrender to Juan Antonio, Jefferson or Miguel. Children who are seen in the league they are going to enjoy, who are going to have fun, who suffer like the rest, but who manage their emotions in such a special way. The one who saw MasterChef Junior 7 last night and did not split the box with Albert's exits is that it is hollow.

"Is that it is better to do something simple and good than to do something complicated and that is fatal," Albert's phrase to explain the simplicity of his breakfast in the first test of the program. While some of his teammates took creativity and sought to impress the jury - there was a trip to Morocco for two people - Albert prepared a 'simple but varied breakfast' "because I have not made crepes as others have done, but it is varied because it has a touch of sugar for cereals with chocolate, a touch of fruit for tomato and avocado and a 'protein' touch for bacon and parsley leaves to decorate because they are modern, don't you think? " If I eat it with potatoes.

Well, I really eat them with everyone's legs. I eat Lu with potatoes, crying because I didn't think his breakfast was going to be so good and he was going to receive the "blows" of the judges, who almost didn't eat him how beautiful he was. I eat with potatoes to Aitana, who wanted to dedicate her breakfast to a friend of her whom she missed a lot because, because ... "she is on vacation". I would give anything to miss someone again just because he is on vacation.

I eat Silvia, the girl who, when the jury asked her, was going to miss her boyfriend for entering MasterChef Junior 7 left everyone in checkers saying she didn't have it because she wanted to focus on what she likes and doesn't have than to make him happy, but to make himself happy. Hip Hip Hooray! And let's see if once and for all we stop asking children if they have a boyfriend, girlfriend or if they are half-pensioners. We are grandparents manual spring onion. I eat Bosco, along with Vega, the smallest of this edition, who despite being the smallest - and carrying the burned hand because of a duck -, he did not lay down and prepared a breakfast that Pepe Rodríguez left speechless.

Leo, who took 4 points; Bosco, who took two points; Albert, who took three points; and Maria and Lu took the two best dishes, the latter being the one that finally won the first test of the first MasterChef Junior 7 program. He played the outdoor test and the MasterChef team moved to Navarra to visit the Sendaviva natural park. Last night the program was about animals. Between Samantha Vallejo Nájera, Pepe Rodríguez and Jordi Cruz characterized by the characters of the movie Jumanji, and the visits to the natural park there were moments when I thought I was watching The Jungle Book, version, the MasterChef school.

And there, in the middle of nature, again Albert became the absolute protagonist of the hand of Jordi Cruz, who found in the child the boy who was going to give him the game that a first program always needs. The applicants, led by Lu and Maria, had to prepare two complete menus for 90 visitors. The blue team would be in charge of cooking artichokes with clams, lamb chilindrón and crusted Aoiz, while the red team would be in charge of preparing pochas with chistorra, trout to the navarra and cream canutillo. The teams were chosen at random by taking some chips from a bag, since you don't know which one of them gave exactly the same on which team to finish? Yes, to Albert. For these things, Albert was the absolute protagonist of the first program of this seventh edition.

Nerves, anger, despair ... what has been an outdoor test of MasterChef. While cooking alone there is never a problem, but when it is difficult for them to cook, or rather work, as a team, the first problems arise. The one who wants to send at all costs, the one who gets angry because they criticize the work of his partner, the one who can't stand to send who should not send, the one who despairs and despairs everyone, and then there was Albert. "One thing is to send in your normal life, and another thing is to lead a kitchen team, a serious team, which must be done very well because our guests deserve the best," said Jordi Cruz, who already knows how they usually end these tests among the children and there was no plan to roll it into the premiere program.

And there was Albert giving the lesson that Jordi Cruz wanted them to learn, but that in the mouth of a child always sounds easier: "We are working well. I am working as a team as I have never worked." But how is Jordi not going to make a gentleman's pact with Albert? All of Spain would have to be making a gentlemen's pact with him. Man now!

The truth is that the kids were awesome. They passed the test, that to be the first outdoor of the first program was not easy, but since there has to be a winning team this was the team led by Maria, who took six points while the red team took only three.

After seeing the three Thursdays dressed as when they were little. Pepe's day of his communion is to frame them and listen to Albert say that his head exploded when he saw them. The "minion" of Jordi Cruz, baptized Pepe Rodríguez. WONDERFUL!

While in the adult edition the elimination test is the one that can send you home and it goes to those who lose the outdoor test, in the case of MasterChef Junior it goes through points that accumulate throughout the program. So the first two, the ones with the most points, Lu and Maria, were saved from the elimination test. The others would have to prepare typical Christmas dishes such as Galets soup - Jordi Cruz's favorite -, baked bream - Pepe Rodríguez's favorite - and stuffed pulada breast - Samanta Vallejo Nájera's favorite.

Leo and Marí were in charge of choosing which dish each one would prepare, something that the other applicants did not like at all. As they were distributing the dishes, anger was increasing. "They go and they give me the pularda. Is it that they were not reading my lips?" Marta released visibly angry. Yes, they are children, but they don't have a hair of fools, who looks at Leo as he gave Lu the pulade because he knows that he is a strong rival and he will not be easy at all. "We already know that if they want to take people off, they will take it away," said poor Vega after she was given the galets. And Albert? Well, the most difficult thing for Albert, the pillar. Why? Because although they do not consider him a strong rival for his cooking, they do know that he is the one who is shading them, and very long, and they were not going to consent. But Albert doesn't care. Galets, then galets.

With Dani García as a guest, Leo freaking out and Albert hugging him as if there was no tomorrow, the judges had to make the decision to expel three of the applicants, the three that accumulated the least points in this first program, Álec, Silvia and Marta, They will have to wait for the repesca to return to the kitchens of MasterChef June7.

Crying, sadness, emotion and ... Albert. I do not know how long it will last in the program, but I am sure it has to last a lot, and it has to be done because children like him are needed, because he returns us to earth, because he is the example of any child can be in MasterChef Junior . If there were no children like Albert, MasterChef Junior would be too implausible.
