The Sharjah Archeology Authority continues excavation and excavation works at the Abu Daniq Tower site in the city of Sharjah, to know this archaeological site, which the expectations of archaeologists indicate that its history dates back to the fifth millennium BC and forms part of the ancient history of the Emirates.

Previous excavations and surveys at the site revealed many details of the place, as the French mission that worked in the area found a pearl stone dating back to the Neolithic period. While the Director General of the Sharjah Archeology Authority, Dr. Sabah Aboud Jasim, found a group of pottery fractures that date back to the fifth millennium BC. Issa Yusef, director of antiquities and tangible heritage, said, “In light of the directives to convert the Boudanj Tower area to a tourist site, the authority started excavation work to find out the foundations of this building, and to verify whether this tower is single or connected to another building, and the initial results of the successive excavations indicated That this tower is connected to another building, which increases the importance of this region in terms of both historical and tourism ».

He added that the distinctive thing about the tower is that it was built on a terrace designated for it, and there is a room and what looks like a ladder attached to it, pointing out that the tower is built of two types of stones, the first is the slave, which is the marine stone found on the coasts, and these stones were cut and trimmed, and some of them are in the form of Beautiful geometry, plus marine coral stones. Excavations revealed the presence of a group of minerals on the floors, including iron, and some oxidized copper pieces, in addition to the presence of a ceiling for a room or a water basin, and the upper part fell to the interior, due to the presence of war marks in the place, and there is a water channel to drain water from the inside out This is important to know why the room is attached to a part of the tower. The Sharjah Archeology Authority teams at the site of Burdanaq Tower found one Indian coin, dating back to 1947, and there are some pottery and broken shells from the remains of the hill-shells of the Neolithic period, which were used to eat food, and all of these materials may contribute to learning more about the history The region and the city of Sharjah.
