In New Year's Eve in Moscow, you can expect freezing temperatures with snow. About this RT told the deputy head of the situational center Roshydromet Anatoly Tsygankov. According to him, in the coming week the weather will again be warm due to the approach of the warm front.
“On Saturday, we got a little colder, the pressure rose, it was cloudy. Now, again, there is a warm front, carries warm air. Therefore, the numbers until December 27, we will be warm. And the warmest day will be Tuesday, ”said the weather forecaster.
He specified that on the night of Sunday to Monday, it is expected to be around 0 ° C, on Monday +3 ... + 5 ° C, on Tuesday afternoon +3 ... + 7 ° C, the same temperature will remain on Wednesday.
Tsygankov stressed that by the end of the week an increase in atmospheric pressure is expected, due to this the night and day temperatures will drop slightly. He confirmed that the average daily temperature in the capital on some days will be above the norm by 11-12 ° C.
“By New Year's Eve, the Urals should draw a little cold air. That is, New Year's Eve should be close to long-term data. A slight minus with snow is expected, ”he concluded.
The chief specialist of the Moscow Weather Bureau Tatyana Pozdnyakova in an interview with RT also said that winter weather should come to the capital by New Year. According to her, the beginning of December in the Moscow region turned out to be rather warm, the average daily air temperature exceeds the climatic norm by 5-6 ° С.
“So far, residents of the capital region have only to dream about snow. The New Year is approaching and, of course, we associate it with snow and frost. I think that the weather this year will be corrected just on the eve of the New Year, ”she said.
According to weather forecasters, it will be possible to count on snow after December 28th. According to Pozdnyakova, a small amount of rainfall may occur, however, they will form a stable snow cover and create a “white landscape” in the metropolitan area.
“And you can expect that this snow will remain on New Year's Eve. Calculations also show that the temperature on New Year's Eve will be negative both at night and during the day, ”she added.
All this, according to weather forecasts, allows Muscovites to count on winter weather with snow and light frosts on the night of December 31 to January 1.
Recall that almost the entire territory of the European part of Russia, due to the influence of cyclones, unusually warm weather was established. Temperature indicators significantly exceed the norm and break long-term records. In particular, in Moscow on December 18, the thermometer bars rose above the record level of 1886 and reached their maximum value in the entire history of meteorological observations - +5.4 ° С.
Earlier, the head of the Hydrometeorological Center, Roman Wilfand, said that over the next seven days, snow should not be expected. He explained that Moscow would be in the high-pressure ridge, under which there are no conditions for the formation of clouds, respectively, "there is nowhere to get snow."
