2025 Osaka World Expo held by Cabinet to Dec. 12 December 12:00
The 2025 “Osaka / Kansai Expo” is scheduled to be held half a year from April 13th to October 13th by the government about three weeks ahead of the opening date initially planned at the cabinet meeting on the 20th Was formally determined.
“Osaka / Kansai Expo” was originally scheduled to be held from May 3rd to November 3rd in 2025 at “Yumeshima” in the bay area of Osaka.
However, it was pointed out that if the opening day overlaps with a large holiday, visitors could concentrate and the venue and traffic could be confused.
For this reason, the government officially decided on the 20th Cabinet to hold the opening date on April 13 about three weeks ahead of the original schedule.
The period of the Expo is just half a year until October 13, and the government expects that there will be no significant impact on the number of visitors expected to reach 28 million by the advance of the period.
The government will submit a plan to the BIE = Exposition International Secretariat by the end of the year, and aim to obtain approval at the BIE General Assembly scheduled for June next year.
