Furukawa Kikai Metal, a manufacturer of industrial machinery, reported to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission that one piece of metal containing radioactive material was lost. The company is examining whereabouts.

According to Furukawa Machine Metal, the one lost was a small piece of metal containing radioactive material stored at a business in Ibaraki, with a cylindrical shape of 5 mm in diameter and 9 mm in height.

The metal piece was used to check whether the radiation measurement equipment was working properly. When the factory was invented on the 9th of this month, it was lost and reported to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Although the amount of radiation emitted by the metal pieces is very small, the regulatory committee says that you should contact the police and regulatory committee without touching it if you find it.
