In 2016, the recording of Our Time is Now, which is described as a family chronicle that spans several decades starting in 1945. In the series, viewers have been able to follow the Löwander family and the staff of the family restaurant Djurgårdskällaren.

Taken from reality

Several of the cast have drawn inspiration from real people, in the documentary The Story Behind Our Time Is Now, the actors are meeting people who inspired the series.

Charlie Gustafsson's character Calle Svensson, who starts at Djurgårdskällaren as a kitchen boy, but later gets the job as a kitchen master, has drawn from Sweden's first celebrity chef, Tore Wretman. He cooked on the radio and television, sometimes with his wife Meg Westergren by his side. Just like Calle and Nina in Our time are now.

Mannerström remembers Wretman

In the documentary series, Charlie Gustafsson meets the colleague Leif Mannerström who knew Tore Wretman.

- As a pub, he was the absolute greatest for me, says Leif Mannerström in the program.

On Monday, December 16, the final episode of the third season will be broadcast. The series gets new episodes in the form of a special season that will show what happened in the summer of 1951, between season one and two in the series.
