Frozen 2 has raised more than 1 billion dollars (around 900 million euros) worldwide. The animation film follows in the footsteps of the first part from 2013, reports CNBC Sunday.
Frozen 2 is the sixth Disney film in 2019 that breaks the $ 1 billion mark. Captain Marvel , Aladdin , The Lion King , Avengers: Endgame and Toy Story 4 preceded the film about the adventures of the princesses Elsa and Anna.
Disney does not consider the most recent The Lion King film to be an animation film, although the scene was made with digital techniques except for one scene. The Lion King also raised more than 1 billion dollars in 2019.
In the Netherlands, Frozen 2 attracted more than 200,000 visitors from the premiere up to and including its opening weekend, generating a revenue of 1.6 million euros. The premiere day of the animation was the best Dutch opening ever for an animated film from Disney.
