Randy Fokke, who after Harry Piekema received the lead role in the Albert Heijn commercials, initially hesitated to take on this role. The 35-year-old actress feared that she would often be recognized by this.
"I have had great doubts," says Fokke, who also has roles in Tower C and Harkum, in conversation with Het Parool .
"Not because of Albert Heijn, I thought that was fine, but because of the impact. I don't want to be recognized, that's the last reason I ever wanted to be an actress. So when I got the job, it felt as a great adventure, but I was also terrified. "
Fokke plays the role of supermarket manager Ilse, the 'successor' of Piekema who played the role of Mr Van Dalen for years. In the first commercial in which Fokke can be seen, Piekema also makes a brief appearance. He also advised her to deal with the sudden familiarity.
"Harry said: think of what you can say when you get the same joke or the same comment for the thousandth time. For example, if they say to you: you probably know where the cheese is. Far beyond a little sheepish laugh, with a red head, I haven't come yet. "
