The phrase "fires near me" has become the most searched phrase on the Google search engine for 2019 in Australia, after devastating forest fires have brought more than 2.7 million hectares of land across the state of New South Wales alone since last October.

According to the site "Google", "the fires near me" overtook the World Cup for rugby and cricket, to become the most searched term in the country.

Hundreds of firefighters continued to fight 117 fires in New South Wales, including fires called "giant fires", in northwest Sydney, which have a fire front that spans 60 kilometers.

The Fire Department in rural areas of New South Wales runs a map page to follow the fires of bushes and weeds on its website, called the “Fire Near Me” (fires near me), and it is updated first-hand to provide all the information about the fires in a brief way, in addition to The status of each fire, and the different levels of warnings.
