In a kingdom with a democracy as established as Spain, it is as normal as it is legitimate for there to be political forces of republican affiliation . What is no longer as normal nor at all legitimate is that leaders with government responsibilities systematically attack the institution on which our institutional framework pivots, in this case the parliamentary monarchy . Thus, it is not surprising that, as we publish today, the PSOE coalition government is concerned in Zarzuela and Pedro Sánchez intends to move forward with the support of ERC . If the independence movement has the Crown on its target because it represents the national unity that the secessionists intend to demolish, since the formation of Pablo Iglesias , the unfounded criticisms against the King also increase in an attempt to erode his image and undermine his role bulwark of the Constitution that the Spaniards gave us in 78.

Don Felipe has been demonstrating an exquisite neutrality in the exercise of his functions since he assumed the leadership of the State that contrasts with the disregard he is receiving from the still acting President of the Government, who, do not forget, has as its main mandate to save and Do save the Magna Carta. And the latter happens first of all to scrupulously respect the institutions, starting of course by the Crown. We have attended the embarrassing attempts of the socialist leader to separate and replace the Monarch in his role as the maximum representative of the Nation in its international relations . And, in recent days, it has been as indecent as contrary to the procedures that govern our democracy - democracy or is formal or cease to be - that Sánchez and Iglesias sealed a coalition government without even consulting with the Rey, whom the hug of both took by surprise in his official visit to Cuba ; or that this Friday the spokeswoman of the Executive anticipated that Sanchez would not undergo an investiture without having the prior permission of ERC if it were "failed", showing zero respect for the deadlines and movements that correspond to the Head of State.

With these signs, it is of course disturbing what can be expected of the Crown in a legislature dominated by political forces obsessed with dynamiting it. How many times Pablo Iglesias has not repeated that the Monarchy does not make sense in the 21st century , thus demonstrating a great disregard for the political form that 10 advanced nations of Europe and almost half a hundred worldwide share today, and which has a majority Spanish support. Every minister is obliged to ensure his loyalty to the King by assuming his position. If this becomes mere rhetoric and a mockery under the manic excuse of the "legal imperative," we will find ourselves before a Government with absolutely delegitimized members for the exercise of power.
