Egypt announced the postponement of the launch of its first communications satellite “Thebes-1” to be scheduled for another date later, according to the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram.

The satellite, which is expected to have a life span of more than 15 years, will be launched by the French company Ariane Space on the Ariane-5 launch rocket from the launch base in Kourou, French Guiana, South America.

It is planned to contribute to the provision of broadband Internet services to individuals and companies in Egypt and some countries of North Africa and the Nile Basin countries.
