In the city of Hazmieh in Lebanon, France 24 reporters met Khaldoun Jaber, an activist. He was arrested in mid-November in violent conditions, which he first tells in broad daylight, in front of the camera, before being interrupted by the intelligence services. Since his release, the activist has been closely monitored.

Out of sight, Khaldoun Jaber resumes his story. He says he was beaten for long hours. "They put me in a military car, tied me up and blindfolded me, then continued to hit me as you can see (he shows his back) and then they took me to a service office where I was questioned, "he says. Khaldoun partially lost hearing.

But beyond physical violence, he says he is deeply traumatized. He decides to make a complaint. His lawyer, Ayman Raad, summarizes the situation: "He was attacked by a man in plain clothes who did not decline his identity, they took him away and kidnapped him for 18 hours. kidnapped or a militia or something else, they really behaved like a militia. "

The case of Khaldoun Jaber is not isolated. Other activists were arrested under the same conditions. In Beirut but also in the city of Tire, where 18 protesters will be judged in the coming weeks. Despite multiple attempts to intimidate, Khaldoun is a daily martyr.
