Ukrainian billionaire Kolomoisky in an interview with The New York Times said that he considers it appropriate to end the war in the Donbass and restore relations between Ukraine and Russia.

What good, right words.

(Kolomoisky is the one who is the owner of PrivatBank and who is considered the puppeteer of President Zelensky.)

I remember the last time I came to Kiev. It was at the beginning of 2014, I wanted to look into the eyes of my friends, say: “Think it over”.

I watched. They, so to speak, made an exception for me, because I am a poet, I have always been considered out of this world, and my pro-Bass position caused them a condescending attitude: they say, "blessed." They hated the rest of the Russians. We sat dangling legs, somewhere on a bench near the metro station “Leo Tolstoy Square” (irony, irony!), And I reasoned that this should all end soon, otherwise then we won’t be able to bury, repair a deep crack between two countries.

“Yes,” my gentle friends — poets, role-players, intellectuals — told me. - We will never stop hating Russia, and our children will hate it. Perhaps if the war ends now, our grandchildren will not hate it, but for this, Russia must retreat now. ”

(The question that they are fighting with Russia was not even discussed.)

Then I went to war and no longer went to Kiev to find out what they think about the number of generations that will be needed for reconciliation.

I remember how Boris Filatov, the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region (he is also considered a man of Kolomoisky), promised $ 10 thousand for each Russian military.

“For each transferred“ green man ”- he is also a mercenary who has stepped on our common land and trying to push us into a fratricidal war - a reward of 10 thousand US dollars.”

Oh my god, it was back in April 2014, so long ago ...

Oh, so what? The fact that the war must end, and Ukraine put up with Russia.

I probably myself have now become a person who needs to be treated. Because from bright ideas to go to Kiev and record a poetic clip (of course, peacemaking) in my eyes with bloody slippers. Yes, bloodied slippers on the porch of a private house near Donetsk: Ukrainian friends shot, grandmother fled to the basement, but did not have time.

But the war really needs to be ended, and Ukraine and Russia - to close this deep crack that lay between them. And here you can’t argue, here Kolomoisky says absolutely correct words.

There were people left in Ukraine whom it would be nice to save, and we will even leave out the question what they have been doing all these years. Maybe they are old, weak and could neither fight nor leave.

The pain of a man who has seen too much is alive in me, but one cannot but recognize Kolomoisky's rightness.

But wasn’t it too late that this man, one of the main figures who unleashed the war, realized? Promising reward for the enemy? Equipped with all the generosity of weapons, the National Bats, who were doing terrible in the Donbass?

Let's put up. Let's stop the war, let's forget everything. Maybe our grandchildren or great-grandchildren can calmly look at the combination of yellow and blue without twitching.

(The world, of course, should be on our terms - no other is even discussed.)

But Kolomoisky realized it very late. In the spring of 2014, he cheerfully shook his beard and handed out weapons, now talking about the world. It's good that he talked about the world. But how many years will it now take to forgive, how many generations? ..
