"The country of freedom and fantasy". This is how Benoît Delépine describes the Groland Presidium in Media Culture on Europe 1. Groland, a fictional country conceived in 1992, owns its offbeat TV news on the Canal + channel. A unique tone and humor that made the program famous and that a book - Grolivre, Groland's souvenir album - offers to return in print since October 31st. We find the best sketches. "We chose between us," says Benoît Delépine, partner with Gustave Kervern, Franck Benoist or Eric Martin, for the creation of the book.

"If some sketches were spent on TF1, we would have 42 lawsuits"

At the microphone of Europe 1, Benoît Delépine does not hide that he has the feeling that Groland is an anomaly in the French audiovisual landscape. "If some sketches were on TF1, we would have 42 lawsuits," he says amused, "but the people who watch the show, who know the program, it would not even occur to them to complain" , says the comedian. Over the years, the program has traced its path and created its community of faithful Grolandais. "At Groland , we managed to build our bubble of freedom," admits Benoît Delépine.

"We prefer not to meet people who are too powerful"

Groland is also one of the few programs to have survived the arrival of Vincent Bolloré at the head of Canal +. "We do regular skits on Vincent Grolloré," said Benedict Delépine, who says that the authors of the show have no relationship with the leaders of the chain. "We prefer not to meet people who are too powerful," he says with a smile.
