The fifth edition of Dubai Design Week, held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (DACA), presents the most diverse program of its career in terms of disciplines and programs. Downtown Design

This unique and limited edition design section highlights the region's outstanding skills. Abwab is an architectural platform that opens its doors to unique design talent from the Middle East. Designers from India, the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia (supported by Ithraa) and Lebanon will participate in the fifth edition of Abwab, where they will try to reshape the classrooms of their cultures under the umbrella of "Learning Methods."

The list of projects includes: “The Story of Gar” (House of Stories in Hindi), presented by Perside Design Studio from Mumbai, and deals with the creation myths of different Indian cultures, by inviting seven contemporary artists to translate these wonderful stories on traditional Indian Kadi fabrics. Sisters Tessa and Tara Sakhi from Te Sakhi Architectural Design Office in Lebanon share the work of Waltz, a journey that depicts a number of real and imaginary barriers.

The Eastern Province platform in Saudi Arabia presents the Sa'af project, created by Shahad Al Azzaz, founder of the Azaz Architecture Office, directly with local craftsmen to develop innovative textiles of palm fronds, telling each fabric of a story tied together in a symbolic representation of society.
