Shuri Castle Reconstruction Funding for crowdfunding More than 400 million yen November 8, 13:49

As the movement of donations spread toward rebuilding Shuri Castle in Okinawa, the amount of money collected through crowd funding through the Internet raised by Naha City exceeded 400 million yen.

In response to the fire of Shuri Castle, where the main building and other major buildings were destroyed, Naha City has been raising funds from the 1st of this month using crowdfunding to collect the necessary funds using the hometown tax payment site.

The grant amount reached the target of 100 million yen on the 3rd day from the start, but donations continued after that and exceeded 400 million yen at 9:00 pm on the 7th.

The total number of people who donated is over 29,000.

The person in charge of the company that operates the site says, “Donations are gathering at an unusual speed. Many people have a desire to support Okinawa.”

Naha City will continue to use this site until the end of March next year, and will also open an English-only donation site on the 6th to solicit donations via the Internet.

In addition, we have dedicated accounts at four banks, and accept donations by window or transfer.
