“The onset of the meteorological winter is postponed”: weather forecasters reported the approach of subtropical heat to the center of Russia

A rather powerful and deep cyclone of Atlantic origin enters the European territory of Russia, and anomalous warming is expected in this regard, Tatyana Pozdnyakova, chief specialist of the Moscow Weather Bureau, told RT.

“Because of this cyclone, we will receive almost subtropical heat, so the air temperature will rise. It is possible that on November 5 and 6 the air temperature in the central region will reach maximum values ​​for this time of year. In Moscow, the air temperature is expected to be in the range +10 ... + 11 ° С, which is close to record values, ”said Pozdnyakova.

She also did not rule out that the daily maximum temperature for the first ten days of November will be updated in the Russian capital.

“That is, the weather is higher than the climatic norm and more consistent with the October values. Heat will linger until November 7-8. Then the synoptic process will change and cold air will flow into the rear of the cyclone, ”said the weather forecaster.

Note that at present in Moscow the temperature values ​​reach +1 ... + 3 ° С. Earlier this week, the first snow fell in the metropolitan area, and the temperature did not exceed zero degrees, which led to a large number of road accidents.

“Further it will be even warmer, up to +10 ° C on a public holiday, November 4. The peak of warming will occur on Tuesday-Wednesday, when the air temperature reaches +8 ... + 13 ° С. The reason for this warming is a series of Atlantic cyclones, which, moving through the northern regions of European Russia, draw warm and well-warmed air masses into the central part of the region. However, the weather will not be comfortable, because cloud cover, rain and gusty wind are expected. In the second half of the week the temperature will gradually decrease, but cooling will still leave the thermometer columns above the limits of the climatic norm, ”the weather forecaster said in an interview with RT.

The Hydrometeorological Center of Russia also emphasizes that warm weather will be established in the northern regions of the Central Federal District of Russia - in the Leningrad, Pskov, Novgorod Regions. Moreover, in the southern part of the Central Federal District this weekend will be cold.

The day before, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand predicted that a “pink winter” is expected in Russia this year, that is, in December, January and February, temperature values ​​will be mostly around and above normal.
