For All Saints, the head of state and his wife give themselves a weekend in Calvados. On Thursday, they went to meet the Normans.

REPORTAGE

After a surprise visit to Rouen on Tuesday to try to reassure the inhabitants about the fire of Lubrizol, Emmanuel Macron went to Honfleur (Calvados), where he spent the weekend of All Saints.

From Thursday noon, after an outing to the restaurant, the President of the Republic took a walkabout, with his wife Brigitte Macron. The presidential couple was well received. "He leaned his head, he gave me a big smile and said 'hello ma'am'," enthuses Aliette, head of an art gallery, who saw the head of state out in casual dress at the Bistrot des artistes where he has his habits.

"A very great power of seduction"

"People asked him questions, he answered very simply like anyone," she continues. "He does not fart!" For almost an hour, the president serves hands and gets his picture taken.

Pascal prefers, meanwhile, to stay away. "I've seen people come up to make selfies with the president as they spend their time yelling all year round," he wonders. "He must certainly have a great power of seduction to capsize the hearts of people ... In any case, he does not overthrow mine!"

Emmanuel Macron seems here in conquered territory. Some are even disappointed not to have seen, like Aurélien: "I wanted to show my son of 5 years the chief of France," he says. "But I'll come back next year to see him!"
