"Co-op Koube" sued the country not allowed to participate in the point reduction system October 28 18:46

Participation in the pointless system for cashless payments introduced in line with the increase in the consumption tax rate was not allowed just before the start, and a consumer cooperative with its headquarters in Kobe City compensated the country for damage. I filed an appeal.

The complaint was raised by the co-op Kobe Kobe, which is headquartered in Higashinada-ku, Kobe.

According to the lawsuit, Co-op Kobe is a point-reduction system operator that pays up to 5% for cashless payments such as credit cards in accordance with the guidelines for cooperative standards issued by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The application procedure has been completed.

However, on September 27, just prior to the start of the system, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry told us that it was considered “substantially the same scale of business as a large company” and refused to participate.

For this reason, the preparatory expenses such as reprinting electronic money cards and making flyers that have been promoted toward the start of the system were wasted, and on the 28th, the Kobe District Court asked the country for damages of over 27 million yen. Filed a complaint.

Co-op Koube said, “Despite applying after confirming the registration procedure, the explanation of the country is unclear, such as receiving a notice of disapproval immediately before, and the decision is not satisfactory.”

CO-OP KOBE is a large-scale cooperative with approximately 1.7 million members, and last year's sales exceeded 240 billion yen.
