The Friends of Cancer Patients Association, which is spreading awareness about cancer and providing financial and moral support for people with cancer and their families, is organizing the second session of the "Living" World Sports March on November 22 and 23, at the American University of Sharjah.

The launch of the second edition of the event is a continuation of the success of the march in its first session in 2017, which saw more than 2500 participants from educational institutions, public and private companies, and cancer survivors from all over the UAE and the Middle East.

The “Living” march was launched 35 years ago by American physician Gordy Clatt, who organized it for the first time on a racetrack in Tacoma, Washington, in 1985, and was able to achieve a wide partnership between the social components to support cancer patients, and transforms this individual initiative into Global humanitarian initiative. During his first career, he managed to raise $ 27,000, having traveled 83 miles within 24 hours, and then moved outside the United States, now organized by more than 30 countries in the world, and managed to raise more than $ 5 billion in support of patients cancer. In 2017, the Friends of Cancer Patients Association, in collaboration with the American Cancer Society, launched the first edition of the 'Live' march in support of cancer patients, making the UAE the first country in the Middle East and North Africa to host this global event.
