According to a press release from the SD-controlled municipality, the background is that she did not have the same view as the employer on the role of the management team and assignments in the change work in progress.

This has an impact on the confidence of the employer, according to Lars Ericsson, City Manager.

Sölvesborg is governed by the Samstyret, a coalition consisting of SD, M, KD and the local Sölvesborg and Lister Party. Here, several changes are being made to the municipal operations that have come into national media focus, including in the cultural field.

- It's been different. Cultural issues have come into focus in a way that was new to me, says Sofia Lenninger to TT.

Challenging contemporary art

One example is the decision to stop purchasing what the governing municipal majority calls challenging contemporary art, or "human art", as the Swedish Democratic chairman of the Recreation and Culture Committee expressed it in an interview with SVT.

Here, Sofia Lenninger has seen it as her job as an official to state facts on the matter.

- The discussion has been about the fact that we have bought challenging contemporary art in Sölvesborg and we have not done so. It has been important for me to put forward that fact.

She emphasizes that she has not been told exactly what in her way of doing the job that has caused the employer to lose confidence in her.

Sölvesborg's revised library plan has also received national attention. The new thing here is, among other things, that literature in the future does not need to be bought into the school libraries in all students' mother tongue. Instead, the new library plan states that there should be literature in the school libraries in languages other than Swedish.

"Stressful situation"

TT: Has it been a difficult situation as an official to handle this attention?

- You have been sorted out in a somewhat pressured situation between the task of producing facts and supporting documents for the policy and communicating to the public what our business looks like right now, says Sofia Lenninger.

TT: What are you doing now?

- Rest me. Reflect on what has happened. And then I venture out into the challenging times again.

According to Lars Ericsson City Council, the agreement means that Sofia Lenninger receives 14 monthly salaries, which is equivalent to SEK 650,000.

He tells TT that he does not want to comment on the background beyond what the municipality has written in its press release.
