The German ENT doctor Roland Lestig said that sinusitis often occurs as a result of not treating the common cold well. The mucous membranes lining the sinuses are susceptible.

He explained that the symptoms of sinusitis are severe leaching and compressive pain in the head and face with the deterioration of sense of smell and dental pain.

Sinusitis is divided into acute and chronic, acute lasts two to four weeks, while chronic lasts up to 12 weeks.

He stressed the need to consult a doctor if sinusitis is accompanied by fever, and a feeling of severe pressure in the front or upper jaw, and if mucus festering (yellow color) after three days.
To prevent sinusitis care should be taken to recover from the common cold completely.
