The wedding day is supposed to be the day anyone will remember it all, but it seems that many details of the wedding day will fade, especially if the person is a man. A study found that couples remember much less about their wedding day than their wives remember.

The study concluded that women remember 23 percent more details of a wedding day than men, according to the Daily Mail.

Wives are likely to remember details including worn clothes and the weather on the wedding day, even after more than half a century of marriage, the study said. Experts believe that the difference between husbands and wives is due to the concept of "caring for the family," a task of caring for family affairs for which no salary is paid, including the preservation of emotional memories, which is of concern to women more than men.

In the study, psychologists asked 39 couples about the details of their wedding day, separating the couple from each other before asking them individually.

The scientists asked those who were married for 13 to 65 years to talk for three minutes about what they remember about their wedding day, as well as their reactions and feelings.
In their individual sessions, wives remembered nearly a quarter more information than couples, including details that may seem trivial but distinctive.

The study, conducted by Dickinson College in America and Macquarie University in Australia, was published in the Memory Journal.
