The Cultural Complex in Al Hosn, which is part of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, hosts two workshops inspired by the work of the UAE artist Najat Mekki. The artist, Mekki, shared her own, offering a course on the technique of painting on transparent surfaces.

Participants in the workshop will translate Mekki's paintings into their own fragrances, incorporating the inspiration of Najat Mekki, inspired by spices, colors and natural elements, with their memories, especially those of their families to design their own fragrances. Mona Al Haddad, a graduate of the Faculty of Visual Arts at Zayed University, highlights Makki's influence in presenting works on women and Emirati culture and recalling memories through colors and fragrances.

In the same context, the Cultural Complex in the main hall and the ground floor spaces will host until the first of December the first individual exhibition «Najat Makki: Illuminations». The inaugural Cultural Complex is also the first community art exhibition titled “Dedication: Celebrating Najat Makki” with the participation of 19 Emirati artists who were influenced by Najat Makki's art and its leading role in developing the art scene in the country.

To celebrate the opening of its doors to visitors, the Abu Dhabi Children's Library continues to organize the Journey Between Words exhibition, which focuses on highlighting the role of animated stereoscopic books in literacy. The stories of authors and illustrators from the UAE have been transformed into three-dimensional educational and interactive spaces to stimulate children's imagination within the exhibition, enabling visitors to engage in a creative experience embodying the most famous books and literature.

Hosted by the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi, the Art Residency Program is a platform to support artists and advance their artistic practices to an advanced level. Headquartered in Al Hosn, the heart of Abu Dhabi, the Cultural Park provides the UAE's artists with the necessary tools and resources, as well as fully equipped art studios. It also provides them with the conditions to create distinctive works of art and exhibit them in the galleries, thus offering them an opportunity to enhance their presence on the local and international art scene.
