The two supervising organizations were the “International Technology Exchange Cooperative” in Shibayama-cho, Chiba and the “Kyodo Business Cooperative” in Saitama City.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the International Technology Exchange Cooperative has signed a contract with Vietnam's sending organization to pay compensation of 200,000 to 300,000 yen if a technical intern apprentice is lost.

In addition, the “Kyodo Business Cooperative” had decided to refund the cost of the course once paid to the sending organization.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and the Ministry of Justice revoked the operation of the two supervising organizations on the 8th, arguing that these contracts violated the Technical Training Optimization Act, which prohibited the receipt of inappropriate compensation.

According to the Ministry of Justice, as of the end of last year, the number of technical intern trainees was about 330,000, and about half were Vietnamese.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has instructed approximately 2,700 supervising organizations nationwide not to sign inappropriate contracts with sending organizations.
