Female patient dies due to dialysis cessation Bereaved family sues Public Fussa Hospital October 8th 17:04

In August last year at a public Fussa hospital in Tokyo, a woman patient who had been discontinued from dialysis had died, but she said that she wanted to withdraw from the hospital. The policy to file a lawsuit seeking damages of 22 million yen has been established.

The problem was that in August last year, a 44-year-old woman who had kidney disease at a public Fussa hospital in Tokyo was discontinued from dialysis treatment and died a week.

According to the lawyer of the female husband's agent, the doctor in charge showed the woman the option to continue dialysis with a tube from the neck or to stop dialysis, and the woman signed the consent form. Dialysis was discontinued.

A few days later, the woman indicated that he was willing to withdraw from dialysis, but the hospital ignored it and said it was illegal to die.

For this reason, the women's husbands and bereaved family decided to file a lawsuit against the hospital union that operates the public Fussa Hospital for damages totaling 22 million yen in the Tokyo District Court in the middle of this month.

On the other hand, a lawyer who is a representative of the Fussa Hospital Association says that he cannot comment at this time.
