Exhibition 421 unveiled its program of events for the month of October, which includes a series of short courses, workshops and film screenings, in order to enhance the interaction of the public in the UAE with the diverse creative landscape, and encourage cultural dialogue on regional narratives.

The exhibition is set to launch a jewelery design course, consisting of eight sessions under the supervision of jewelry designer Nadia Abbas, and additional workshops in November, where participants will be able to explore the art of jewelry making and how to present their designs to manufacturers.

Sorour Amini, professor of fine arts and graphic design at the Islamic Azad University in Dubai, will also present an intensive course on October 12 on the art of shadows (Cyanotype), which was originally used with architectural drawings by 20th-century artists.

On December 15th, the expressive painter Nour Bahgaten will present a poster art workshop. The workshop will combine black and white gradients in different colors to create a multi-layered poster of different media, textures and shapes.

421 will once again collaborate with Aqeel Cinema to show two films in the series "Arabs and the City" on 16 June. The first film, "Street of Death and Other Stories," directed by Karam Ghossein, focuses on social relations on the outskirts of Beirut. The second film by director Nadine Labaki «Capernaum», which was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, the story of a Lebanese boy suing his parents, because of his birth to this world and separation from them later.

On July 18, graphic designer Rasha Dakkak will lead a training workshop entitled Developing Corporate Identity.

The next day, a six-part series on the art of perfumery will begin the next day and start every Saturday for six weeks. This highly popular training course will provide an introduction to the world of fragrances and valuable information on the history of fragrances, their uses and ways of making them. The course will be supervised by Amna Al Habtoor, a leading UAE perfume business leader.

The program also includes two workshops on the basics of printing on 19 and 26 January. On the 20th, the exhibition will host 421 workshops entitled "The Art of Burning Copper", under the supervision of artists Rawda Al Ketbi and Rashid Al Falasi.

The 421 exhibition continues its collaboration with the Goethe-Institut to present a documentary on the life of German-American sculptor Eva Hess on 23rd.

Khayal Series: Readings for Children is back on June 26, offering young readers the opportunity to explore the world of money management in a fun and engaging way. Writer Khadija Qudsi, hosted by the Center, will read excerpts from her book, "Old and New Emirates Currencies," which focuses on financial literacy and currency history in the UAE.

At the end of the month, the exhibition will host 421 workshops on the leather industry, spanning three days entitled Basics of leather products industry. The intensive course starts on 30th of November and concludes on 1 November.

The 421 exhibition will be held on the 18th of this month, in cooperation with Gulf Photo Plus, under the supervision of photographer Raz Hansrod, and a photo tour on the 19th of January in Mina Zayed, giving participants the opportunity to develop photographs of industrial areas and nearby markets. The tour will be held under the supervision of professional photographer Raz Hansord and will provide participants with advice on controlling their shots and cameras.
