Taste of winter oysters landed prosperous production Japan's best Hiroshima 2 October 11:52

Landing in this season of winter taste and aquaculture oysters in Hiroshima Prefecture, which boasts the highest production volume in Japan, has been lifted this month, and landing activities are actively underway.

Hiroshima Prefecture accounted for about 60% of the nation's aquaculture oyster production, and the landing of this season was lifted this month.

On the second day off the coast of Akitsu-cho, Higashihiroshima-shi, Hiroshima, where aquaculture was thriving, the landing work was carried out from around 6 am.

The farmer used a crane to pull up a rope about 10 meters long from the sea, and put them one after another in the cage of the ship.

Then, the oysters were transported to the port workshop, and workers called “Tachiko” took them out one by one.

According to the fishermen, there were concerns about the growth of oysters due to the intense heat and typhoons, but the size of their bodies is about the same as usual because of moderate rain.

Mr. Junji Morishita, a farmer, said, “Hiroshima's oysters are crisp and tasty, so I would like many people to eat them.”

The fish oyster landing will continue until around next May and will be shipped nationwide.
