Few days and the elections of the Federal National Council will end, in which candidates will win and become members of an important legislative organ, and the rest will return to the exercise of their normal functions, both in their work and in their lives, but everyone without exception has contributed in one way or another to promote and consolidate the culture of electoral and parliamentary work in the state, They had a good experience, and they undoubtedly learned a lot from them.
Participation in itself is good work, despite the continued lack of awareness of many of the Council's role and the nature of its work and importance, and this is evidenced by the slogans and statements of a large number of candidates, and more evident in the electoral programs that we have seen, read and heard, as most of them confuse significantly between the powers of the Executive Authority and the Council's authority National legislature, most of which was the result of advertising companies, or offices specialized in social networking, which made the candidates chanting words, phrases and slogans are very similar, and do not suit the nature of the work of the National Council!
Therefore, what is required now is the continuation of the society's relationship with the National Council, and that the connection between the candidates or those who have the intention to run during the next sessions should not end with the Federal National Council. The relationship between the members of the community and the Council chair should not become a temporary seasonal love affair. The Government, too, should work to spread the culture of election and raise awareness of the importance, role and powers of the Council.
The relationship between the unfortunate candidates, even those who wish to run in the future, and the FNC must continue and strengthen throughout the year. It is unreasonable and unacceptable for most of those who entered the election to know the location and headquarters of the National Council, and never to enter it. As for the mechanism of their work, they all talk about the issues and complaints of citizens, and all of them have set a schedule for many problems, Emiratisation, high prices, retirement, education and health, but most do not know how to raise these issues in the Council, and how the member can ask a question to a minister, and what the conditions of questions!
The citizen who really wants to serve the community and the nation through the National Council must be an initiative from now to assume this responsibility for the next session, and the Ministry of State for National Council Affairs should also take the initiative to qualify those wishing to run, so why not hold quarterly sessions within the Council or in the various Emirates To familiarize them with the mechanism of work, and to train them to master what is required of them in the event of their access to membership, and the barrier to open the door for anyone who wishes to run for public meetings of the National Council, such things will be one of the important indicators of the seriousness of the candidate for membership in the future, and voters will realize that He does so in order to qualify and educate himself to convey their voice, not for personal interest or benefit!
