Over the years he has collaborated with, among others, Ewert Ljusberg. He was also close friend and manager of Cornelis Vreeswijk.

Sid Jansson was one of the driving forces behind the Vispråmen Storken, which during the 1960s was the center of the growing Swedish whitewash. In the 1970s he was part of the group Visor and Bock Foot, together with Stefan Demert, Jeja Sundström and Björn Ståbi.

He has among other things published the anthology "60 Visas from the 60's". In 2018 he received the Swedish Visa Award.

Sid Jansson was a resident of Rättvik, Dalarna.

He turned 80.
