"Fascinateur". This is how Messmer defines himself. The Quebec hypnotist has been traveling the world for over ten years now. His shows brought together more than a million people. From November, he is touring France with a new show, Hypersensoriel . In Media Culture on Europe 1, he talks about his work as an artist.

"The human being is built in the same way"

Messmer is undoubtedly one of the most famous figures of artistic hypnosis in the world. He has to his credit a world record. "I hypnotized 854 people in less than four minutes during an evening in Quebec," he recalls. Asia, America or Europe, the fascinator has built an international reputation. "The human being is built in the same way, be it a Japanese, a French or a Quebecer," he says, "however the cultural baggage will change the color of the show."

"I want to slow down the pace"

In his new show Hypersensoriel , Messmer wants to "rediscover the five senses" to the audience. "With the techniques I use, we can succeed in multiplying our senses," he says, "all in a humorous and scientific setting." As he recalls, the artist fits well into a spectacular process, although hypnosis has medical virtues. "My goal is to discover hypnosis with a humorous staging. We do not attract a million people with a conference on the subconscious," said the Quebecer.

But at 48 years old, Messmer announces that he will still a little lift the foot. "I do not want to move on, but I want to slow down the pace," he confesses, he who is dad of a small child of two years.
