The subject of history may carry too much and the hours are not enough, according to the National Agency for Education, which proposes that the history of antiquity be removed from secondary education.

"It sounds problematic," says Åsa Fahlén, chair of the Teachers' Federation and history teacher.

At the same time, she agrees that the hours are not enough, which can lead to different teachers choosing different parts of the teaching.

- It will be a lack of equivalence, so it is good that you raise the problem substance versus time, she says.

But the idea that antiquity would hit the foot doesn't feel good.

- Many of the thoughts and ideas we live with today derive from antiquity. A lot of the basics of science come from there. It's an important era, ”she says.
