The epicenter of the earthquake was located 31 km southeast of the city of Entre Lagos. The center of tremors lay at a depth of 137 km.
The National Emergency Management Agency said there was no tsunami threat. No injuries were reported.
Earlier, an earthquake in Istanbul affected eight people.
