• 'Who kills iron.' Nuts, kernels and blood

The Catalan Enric Auquer has done everything. Theater, TV3 series, some paper in the cinema. But it is still a stranger. At least until last Friday, the date of the premiere of Who Kills Iron , by Paco Plaza , a film that should put his name on everyone's lips.

His incarnation of Kike, the youngest son of a drug lord, Galician is simply memorable. Not only because of his charisma and talent, but because he updates the genre by creating the latest generation narco , completely contemporary, that goes around in a white tracksuit, half shaved and with a trap at all rags in the helmets. The ragtag narco was born, and perhaps a star.

The die was cast when Auquer formed ranks with Quinta del Biberón in the show In Memoriam , by Lluís Pascual . Casting director Arantza Vélez waited for him at the exit of the María Guerrero Theater and told him that he had something for him. A curious choice to give life to someone who has grown up between barnacles and lobsters.

Although when seeing Who to iron kills nobody would say that Auquer was born, 31 years ago, in Rupià, a small town in the Ampurdà. «I was very accentuated. When I received the script, I didn't even know what the laughs were. So I went there with Àlex Monner , who besides being a great actor is also my best friend, and we got in touch with the world. They told me about Laureano Oubiña's children, who are a bit like that. Kids a little complicated, without too many studies, that have grown in the environment. The guy I met asked me a lot of discretion, but he taught me how the business was going.

He puts on a Galician accent, and shouts, imitating his host: «This is sailing! This is a mirror, a bundle arrives and I see myself! That this is a rock, and to make a line I have to use a knife! What you get into Barcelona is bullshit!

“I spent about a week with that guy, and when I finally got out of his car, I had to shout. I could not hear more about drugs, whores and money. It was a kind of humanity that was too strange for me, ”recalls the actor. So he got the accent, immersed himself in the atmosphere of the Arousa area, and began to feel "the energy of the character."

And then, of closing, Yung Beef, the star of the trap . «Paco and I were very clear that he was going to listen to trap, because that is his thing. He does not usually yield issues, but we ask him Ready to die , for the cemetery scene, and then he said yes. I love Yung Beef!
