In order to support the areas affected by the Hokkaido earthquake, potato chips that reproduce the taste of “Zangi”, a fried chicken fried in Hokkaido, will be sold using potatoes from Anping Town.

Calbee, a major confectionery maker, is working with prefectures nationwide to develop local potato chips that reproduce the flavors of local dishes.

On the 30th, Calbee President Shuji Ito visited the Hokkaido Government Office and gave Governor Suzuki potato chips that recreated the taste of “Zangi”, a fried chicken fried in Hokkaido.

In addition to using garlic and ginger to recreate the taste of “Zangi”, we use all potatoes from Anping Town to support the areas affected by the Hokkaido earthquake. Also, on the back of the package is a picture of PR and producers in Anping Town.

Governor Suzuki, who tasted, said, “It ’s more than you can imagine,“ Zangi taste ”potato chips.

The potato chips will be available at supermarkets and convenience stores in Hokkaido from the end of next month.
