Today, this year's edition of the Venice Film Festival starts, the 76th in the order. In the competition section there are Hollywood stars such as Brad Pitt, Meryl streep, last year's Cannes winner Hirokazu Kore-Eda - and not least the Swedish filmmaker Roy Andersson, who is back after the big win four years ago
Four years ago, director Roy Andersson received the festival's finest award, the Gold Lion, for his concluding part in the live trilogy A Pigeon sat on a branch and pondered its existence. The new film, About Infinity, he calls for a stand-alone continuation of the trilogy and he goes to Venice with what one might term as "humble confidence".
