Director of the French Cinematheque since 2015, Frédéric Bonnaud has succeeded Serge Toubiana to direct the establishment that highlights the film heritage. "Conservation, programming and distribution of films", lists the interested in the microphone of Europe 1, when discussing the major missions of the institution. Desplechin, "a director who shakes French cinema"
"When you show a work at the cinematheque, you show all the work of a filmmaker," says Frédéric Bonnaud. From August 28 to September 19, the establishment offers all the feature films of Arnaud Desplechin. "This is a director who appears in the 1990s and shakes French cinema.It is an autobiographical cinema being very marked by Hollywood cinema," says the director of the Cinémathèque française. "He will be there, will come with his actors and present all his films," says Frédéric Bonnaud.
"260,000 entries per year"
At the microphone of Europe 1, Frédéric Bonnaud recalls the essential principles of the Cinémathèque française. "It is a cultural organization that serves to preserve the film heritage but also to show it," he says. "Go to the film library is the love of cinema," he says, pointing out that the institution represents "260,000 entries per year."
