Paying 500,000 yen for a donation to a woman in Ehime Prefectural Police due to a misunderstanding arrest 22 August at 20:34

We found out that the Ehime Prefectural Police had paid 500,000 yen as a condolence money for a woman who was misrepresented and arrested for allegedly stealing cash from a taxi.

Matsuyama Higashi Police Station arrested a misidentified woman in her 20s last month for stealing about 54,000 yen in cash or a second bag from a taxi in Matsuyama City, and then apologized to the woman for finding a mistake.

In this matter, it was found through interviews with female lawyers that the Ehime Prefectural Police had paid 500,000 yen as a gift to women in the beginning of this month.

On the other hand, the police have not revealed the facts because of "consideration of the other party".

The police say that they do not recognize that illegal investigations have been carried out in this misapproval arrest, but women are seeking mentality compensation after suffering mental damage such as being forced to confess.
