An exhibition introducing TV animation materials for the masterpiece “Chibi Maruko-chan” started in Tokyo on the 8th, one year after the manga artist Momoko Sakura died.

Momoko Sakura gained popularity through comics such as “Chibi Maruko-chan” and “Kojikoji”, as well as an essay about her own experience, but died at age 53 on August 15 last year due to breast cancer. .

“Chibi Maruko-chan” has been celebrating 30 years from the start of TV anime broadcasting, and to celebrate this, an exhibition introducing anime-related materials has begun in Tokyo Ginza.

Approximately 350 items, such as cell drawings and storyboards, were exhibited. Of these, the illustration for use in the CD jacket of the theme song “Odoru Ponpocorin” was modified with Maruko's facial expression and pose many times. You can see the process.
