Although a gradual warming has been observed in Moscow since the beginning of the week, the Atlantic cyclone will cover it by Thursday, RIA Novosti reports the words of Tatyana Pozdnyakova, chief specialist of the Moscow Weather Bureau.

“We expect the weather to worsen with a significant increase in precipitation, thunderstorms and increased wind are possible, gusts can reach 15-20 m / s, that is, we can say such a mini-collapse for the city,” RIA Novosti reports.

The expert also noted that heavy rains are predicted, which will end only by Friday night.

“Up to half of the monthly rainfall can fall, for the city it is 77 millimeters,” she said.

“We are waiting for a warming. It will be due to the fact that in the atmosphere over Russia there is a restructuring of processes. Air masses will now come from the west and southwest, so there will be an increase in temperature. Chilly August

It was previously reported that August 4 and 5 became the coldest in central Russia since 1948. About this in a conversation with RT said the chief specialist of the weather center "Phobos" Evgeny Tishkovets.

According to him, this happened due to the action of part of the cyclone, which "continues to provide ultra-polar invasion." In general, the weather forecaster emphasized that the temperature for this time of year is below the norm by 7–9 ° С and is more consistent with autumn indicators.

“This time, as we say, the cyclone“ settled ”over the territory and circled over European Russia, so cool air was added, and (from here - RT ) its inability to warm up,” Marina Makarova explained earlier to RT.

Records of the cold

July was also a disappointment for Muscovites. The average air temperature in Moscow was + 16.8 ° С, which is 1.4 ° С lower than the climatic norm.

“From the first days of the month, air temperature kept below normal. Repeatedly recorded cold records. And as a result, the monthly average temperature yielded to the norm of almost 1.5 ° C. The last time such a cold mid-summer was here in 1985, ”the message said on the website of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia.

In general, experts note that over the past 30 years in Moscow, the number of heavy rains has increased one and a half times (more than 10 mm).
