Even if he kept the reindeer and the sled, Santa Claus got up to date: it is possible to write to him on his website as of Tuesday. Its secretariat will open tomorrow, Wednesday, ready to receive tens of thousands of letters posted by children.

Who said Santa did not exist? The one who makes children happy at the end of the year opens its website this Tuesday, November 6 - and its secretariat tomorrow Wednesday in Libourne - to meet the millions of letters sent to him.

Santa Claus will be helped in his task by 60 "leprechauns" postal workers gathered in a La Poste Group sorting center entirely redecorated for the occasion. Until December 17, deadline to take the pen, they will answer each mail addressed to the hand and will add a postcard coloring.

Just write "Santa Claus" on the envelope

For the letter to find its way to the secretariat, simply write "Santa Claus" on the envelope. But be careful, to receive an answer, do not forget to mention his name, first name and mailing address on the back of the mail.

By mail, you have to go to Santa's website and click on the words "write me" to write the message. Santa also accepts drawings, creations and even toys.

"Behind this operation, there is the desire to concretise the learning of writing and gather families for the holidays," says Brigitte Dasseux, project manager within the group La Poste. For her, "it's the least we can do to answer all these children for whom writing to Santa has a great meaning. "

One million letters worldwide

In 2017, more than one million children from 132 countries wrote to Santa Claus. For more than half of the under-6s, this was the first handwritten letter they wrote, according to a study by the Consumer Sciences and Analytics Institute for La Poste.

Sign that this is a magical moment, two-thirds of 3-7 year olds choose their best pencils to write to the one who will deposit their gifts at the foot of the tree.
