The US company Smithfield Foods destroyed about 23,000 kilograms of meat after a worker urinated on or on a production line. The incident was filmed by a surveillance camera.

The video, which was leaked to the local television station Wavy, shows how the man takes off his gloves, opens his pants and then apparently urinated on or on the assembly line in front of him. The tape transports pork.

A spokeswoman for the company confirmed the incident and the destruction of about 23,000 kilograms of pork. That corresponds to a weight of about 200 animals.

According to the spokeswoman, the production was stopped immediately after the event became known. The assembly line and all equipment had been disinfected several times before resuming operation.
