Snow and slipperiness killed two people on the roads in western Germany. In Paderborn, a motorist died in an accident in the dense snow. The police said a vehicle got into oncoming traffic and crashed into the 49-year-old man's car. His co-driver survived seriously injured. The polluter hovered in mortal danger. The driver of a third car driving into the scene of the accident was also severely injured.

In Rhineland-Palatinate, an 18-year-old novice driver was also fatally injured in an accident on a snow-covered road. The police reported that his car slid off the road in the night of Saturday near Hassloch and rolled over in a field. The 18-year-old died in the rubble. His 16 and 17 year old companions were freed by the fire department and were unhurt.

The German Weather Service warned at night of dangerous slipperiness in several regions of Germany. In many places, the snow turns into rain, which could freeze at the freezing temperatures.

This Saturday is supposed to be somewhat milder with temperatures between zero degrees in Vorpommern and plus eight degrees on the Lower Rhine. On Sunday it will be cloudy, according to DWD, partly with rain showers. In the west it could come to thunderstorms, with maximum values ​​between two and eleven degrees.
