Let's move on to the fact that we are going towards winter and consider rather the values ​​displayed by our thermometers, this Monday afternoon: they are quite comparable to what we can observe in January. From 3 to 5 ° C in the north, 2 to 6 ° C in the south, except for the French Riviera, which will register 8 to 10 ° C.

The temperatures of Tuesday and Wednesday will still be below these figures with a negative everywhere in France: -2 ° C in Rennes and -1 ° C in Nantes late Tuesday morning, up to -4 ° C in Paris and Orleans Wednesday morning.

This cold, as we saw last week, comes from the north-east, from Russia, and before that, from the Far North, via the anticyclone placed very high in latitude, between Norway and Finland.

But, as we have seen, this very northern position allows the depressions to circulate freely to the south of our country, from Spain to Italy.

Consequence: as shown in the map above, wet flows from south-east to east winding over Slovenia, Austria, northern Italy and Switzerland before tumbling over we via the Alps and the Jura.

With snow, so. Which will fall in abundance on the alpine reliefs, but also on the plain, from Tuesday morning to Wednesday.

Or this ? On the Grand Est, the Center of France, Ile-de-France and up to the edge of Normandy.

With what intensity? Strong on the reliefs, quite marked on the Massif Central and more moderate in plain. Count 0.5 to 3 cm on the Ile-de-France - a priori, the snow should not hold in Paris intramural. And that said, given the low temperatures, especially at night, ice patches are to be feared on Tuesday morning and Wednesday at the end of the night.
